Pre-Valentine's Chinese: PF Chang's Cumberland Mall
Chinese is the traditional Valentine's meal for me and Rach, so we tried out the new PF Chang's at Cumberland Mall Feb. 13 to avoid the rush. We generally prefer non-chain places, but this is an old favorite from B'ham. I'll keep this short and sweet. Food was good as usual. Service was not. Appetizer arrived before cocktails, wrong dish brought to me (chicken an shrimp sound sooo similar), and rice was about a 10 minute wait after the main dishes were brought. The yummy calamari appetizer was like little squid French Fries, my honey shrimp was sweet and tangy and Rachel's ginger chicken was good, too. Haven't worked out the rating system yet, so for familiarity sake, I'll go with two stars out of four on tastiness alone.

PF Changs the mac daddy of adventure dining
Yes, I'm very aware that PF Chang's is pretty lame on the adventure meter, but it's what we had to work with this week... The way our waiter was sweating, though, made me wonder if we'd have an adventure later that night or the next day.
Ate at the Birmingham location after seeing "Bourne" last Saturday. Good as always. Service was good. Our first table was a booth ... great but freezing cold and we had to more. Server brought 3 fortunes but swept the 3rd away before we could fight over it.
We had steamed dumpling apps. Mary had chicken & potato hot thai/indian influence. Very spice.
Rob had chicken & shrimp curry with noodles. New chinese beer called Hanson or Hendrick was very good.
